			<description><![CDATA[When installing a vibrating wire piezometer in the field, it is often difficult to clearly distinguish pressure increases and decreases that reflect both actual groundwater level fluctuations and the behavior induced by embankment loading.

This issue is typically attributed to the improper formation of an impermeable bentonite seal within the borehole. As a result, changes in pore water pressure are not accurately transmitted to the sensor. In particular, time lag in response and pressure attenuation frequently occur when bentonite sealing is not properly executed. These problems are often caused by slurry coating the filter zone or by excessively thick impermeable layers that hinder pressure transmission.

			<description><![CDATA[VWRS485 Signal Converter is an advanced module designed to convert Vibrating Wire analog signals into digital data, enabling data collection and storage on a PC or MS OS tablet. 

By connecting a modem at the final communication point, users can remotely read and store monitoring data from a distant location via a PC.

Multiple converters can be connected in parallel for expanded measurement capacity. Up to eight VWRS485 converters can be connected through USB ports, allowing the system to measure 32 Vibrating Wire channels and 32 temperature channels simultaneously.

If four USB ports are available, the system can support up to 32 converters, enabling measurements of up to 128 Vibrating Wire /Temperature channels.

In case of Modbus RTU,  It can read out 32 converteres via an USB port.

With its flexible configuration and cost-effective design, the VWRS485 system allows users to implement site automation with a low budget.

The Vibrating Wire Smart Module allows direct measurement of vibrating wire sensors without the need for a standalone VW readout device.

When the module is connected to an Android smartphone and the sensor cable is attached to the terminal, vibrating wire sensors can be measured and the data can be intuitively viewed and stored on the phone.

By enabling the automatic measurement function, the system can periodically collect data and transmit it via the smartphone’s Wi-Fi or 5G connection to an FTP server or Gmail, eliminating the need for separate communication equipment.

By connecting a portable power bank, long-term monitoring is also possible.

			<title><![CDATA[Measurement sensitivity when inclinometer casing is severely twisted]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[There is a 3Deg twist per Inclinometer Casing 1M, and if it connects 10pcs  of @3M, it installs 30 meters per borehole, and the cumulative twist angle is 90deg.


Assuming that 100 mm displacement occurs in the ground, it was calculated how many mm the displacement measured in the case of cumulative 90 deg twisting in the entire 30 meters was calculated.

Displacement (mm) = 100 x sin( π/2)/ π/2 = 63mm

Only approximately 63mm (based on the A-axis) of the actual displacement is measured, representing a 37% loss in measurement data.
 
Since this value deviates from the allowable error range of an inclinometer by several thousand percent, there is a severe risk of missing critical danger signs in the structure if this data is used for design or safety diagnosis without correction.

Furthermore, the distortion of the displacement direction caused by the casing twist leads to a misidentification of the vulnerable areas where collapse or movement is occurring.

Reality: The ground is shifting in the frontal direction.

Data: The measurements suggest the shift is occurring in a diagonal direction.

Consequently, this can lead to critical decision-making errors, such as applying reinforcement methods or installing cutoff walls in the wrong locations, which compromises overall site safety.

Assuming the casing is uniformly twisted over its 30m length, the cumulative displacement measured across the entire section is equivalent to the integral of the measurements at each point, averaged over the total depth.


To minimize measurement errors, Geovan's high-quality inclinometer casings should be utilized.

			<description><![CDATA[A standpipe piezometer is a simple and widely used instrument for measuring pore water pressure or groundwater levels in soil or rock.



The piezometer is installed in a borehole to a desired depth.

Water from the surrounding soil flows through the filter tip and fills the standpipe.

Over time, the water level in the pipe equilibrates with the pore water pressure at the level of the tip.

The water level is measured using a water level meter or tape, and this level indicates the hydraulic head or pore water pressure at the tip depth.


설치 후에는 과립질 모래를 채워 넣고, 상부에는 벤토나이트 그라우팅으로 밀봉하여 외부 물 유입이나 지표수 유입을 방지하지해야 한다.

스탠드파이프형 Casagrande 방식은 측정 반응 속도(measurement response time)가 느릴 수 있고, 지반이 매우 낮은 투수성(low permeability) 이거나 매우 깊은 곳에 설치할 경우 한계가 있을 수 있다.

설치 시 필터 주변에 적절한 모래/자갈로 구성된 인테이크 존(intake zone)을 두고, 상부 수밀(sealing)에 신경 쓰는 것이 중요하다.  그렇지 않으면 외부 물이 유입되어 잘못된 측정이 될 수 있다.

 수위계측을 하는 줄자 RULER TAPE의 피복은 매우 중요합니다.
  
 중국산 테이프는 피복에 공기가 들어 있거나 표면에 핀홀이 있습니다.

 나중에 이부분은 절연이 안돼서 부저음이 계속 울리는 방해요소가 됩니다.

  
 유연성이 현저히 낮아서  측정 테이프가 구겨지면서 줄자 길이가 짧아지는 현상이 나타납니다.


 피복 내구성이 떨어지고 일부 구간에서 인쇄 불량이 나타납니다.


 몇번 사용해보면 차이나 china는 이유를 알 수 있습니다.  

 
당사는 내구성이 우수한 미국산 정품 줄자만을 사용하여 제작하고 있습니다.
